Anoushka Shankar

Anoushka Shakar was an American and British sitar artist. She is the youngest female and was the first person to receive a British House of Commons shield. Anoushka Shakar is a promising young rising singer on Indian Sitar is Anoushka. She is the student and daughter to Ravi Shankar. She spent her childhood bouncing between London to New Delhi. When she was only 13, her first show in New Delhi took place. Then she moved into Encinitas CA, where she received her High School diploma with honors in the year 1999. Although she is still very young Anouskha is a star in her performing and recording record. She has been performing with her father on stage for several years. In 1998 she released her debut single album Anourag. It was nominated for a Grammy Award. Carnegie Hall album was released in 2002. In addition to performing in every major venue and venues, she also has an extensive stage presence. Anoushka isn't only a singer. Bapi The love of My Live is her 2002 book, which was a tribute to Ravi Shankar. In 2003, she appeared on Dance Like a Man as an actress and Bharat Natyam performer. Anoushka shankar is a rising celebrity and her popularity will keep on growing. Anoushka Shakar was born in England spent a large part of her adult life in London Delhi. When she moved to California she graduated from her high school. Anoushka Shankar started her musical studies at age nine. After four years she played her first appearance on the sitar in Delhi for her father's 70th birthday celebration. Anoushka was a part of her father during his world tour, gained an impressive quantity of knowledge. When she was in her teens, she performed at Carnegie Hall as part of Peter Gabriel's WOMAD as well as recorded with George Harrison. The House of Commons Shield was given to her from the British Parliament as the top Asian Arts musician. She is the only female and youngest recipient of the distinction.
